Fine Afternoon

Hello everyone. Praise the Lord! I had a load of bleach from Houston to San Antonio. Came in in the morning my big rig had dead batteries which wasn't a surprise since it sat for 2 days. They just put new batteries in it too! Anyway, they jumped it with the shop pickup. This has been going on for about 6 months now. They know about it. Bob-tailed to DXI in Houston to pickup the morning customers trailer. They were just finishing the loading when I got there. Grabbed the paperwork and the loaded trailer and off I went. Nice ride to San Antonio and unloaded at United Water. While waiting for the lab results and the unloading I got to pick my banjo. They have a nice concrete wall to sit on. Blue sky, green field nearby and cool temperature made for a fine afternoon. Nice ride back to DXI to drop off their trailer. Ran into a little bit of traffic. Bob-tailed back to the branch. Cop on the Yard

Hello everyone. Praise the Lord! Yesterday was Friday but my Septon BD load got canceled. So I because I had Friday off, Cole called me in to work Sunday. I had to gently remind him that I do not work on the Lord's Day unless its an emergency. So he called me back to work today, which is Saturday. I had to cancel my banjo lesson I had scheduled for today. I had 3 pre-loads out of Bayer in Baytown to do and then weigh a loaded trailer on the yard. The first one loaded at 6 in the morning which was good since we were having a safety meeting at the branch at 8 in the morning. Breakfast taco's and a La Porte DOT cop at the safety meeting. So loaded the first TDI trailer and got back to the branch at 7:45. Just in time to eat breakfast and take in the safety meeting. Got the other trailers loaded and got the trailer that needed to be weighed done. By that time it was a 12 hour day! Now I had to rush to Houston hospice for my volunteer work. Full day today. Br...

Acid Saturday

Hello everyone. Praise the Lord! Went to Rhodia in Houston to pickup my first load of Sulfuric acid. It's Saturday, and loaded and took it to Pilot chemical in the Northeast side of Houston. I had an hour wait so I picked up my banjo for that time. Picked mostly "Foggy Mountain Breakdown". I had a good talk with Julia, about an hour. I had to wait for another truck to be unloaded first, the plants computers went down and it took them longer than normal. I did a second load to Shell in Deer Park. Susan was back at the shell scales and had a few minutes chat with her. It was an acid Saturday, but at least it was not all day! Brother Roop Jan 28, 2012
