Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
I was offloading my first load of the day and talking with Bob, who's one of the head maintenance guys there at the plant. Bob is not a manager there, he is just the guy who keeps that place running!
He was talking about his ranch, and hanging out at the ranch that weekend. He has cattle on the ranch, which he just keeps for show. He does absolutely nothing with the cattle.
He's built a building with air conditioning, and he likes to go in and cool down and hang out. Someday he'll convert it into a house for him as wife to retire on. But right now it's just the basic building that's air conditioned.
He keeps the door open sometimes let the cows in! The cows like to come in the building to cool off too! Cows don't like the hot weather either. Bob, an immigrant from British Guyana, is a little eccentric to say the least.
One of his neighbors saw that he had some of his cows in his house and he told Bob, "You're spoiling your cows!" Bob readily agreed with him! Bob doesn't mind if he spoils his cows.
To most people the cows just look like cattle, something to raise and sell at a later date. To Bob, those are his pets! He just keeps them for entertainment value. Like I just said, Bob keeps his cows for show and tell.
And of course a tax write off is available for agricultural land with the cows on it. That's the secret he like doesn't like to tell people, his spoiled cows on his ranch is that it's really a text break.
