Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
I had a trainee last week for four days straight. He was an older black man who had driven for another company for 35 years in Montana. The company is called the Waggoneers. Because he had so much experience that made him very arrogant and a "know it all!"
Those are always the worst guys to train. Anyway, he was still very talkative and told me a lot of different stories. He told me one story about when he was in the Navy. But I do doubt he was a Navy at all. He told me he served on the frigate called the New Jersey!
There have been two recent ships called the New Jersey, one's a submarine and the other one is a World War Two battleship. He said he served on the frigate New Jersey during the Vietnam War. I knew that was wrong because my Uncle Roy served on the New Jersey during the Vietnam War. He was on a crew that fired off the number two main gun! And that ship is a battleship.
So this was a case of stolen valor. I didn't call him on because a relationship is already pretty shaky. I just wanted to earn my money from training him and just get out. He just would come up with more excuses or more lies. Some people like that just lie, because it's their nature of the lie.
If you're going to claim to be part of the military, and you are lying about it, You can at least do your research and make up a good lie. So I don't know what to believe about any of the stories he told me the last four days, I kind of think everything was a lie.
