Winterizing

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

I was originally up in Wisconsin visiting my aunt Nancy and Uncle Jerry Mankowski. They both still live on the old family dairy farm in Central Wisconsin. We also escorted by elderly mother who grew up in that house.

Uncle Jerry was a truck driver for twenty-five years or local trucking company. I've been a truck driver now for thirty-two years in Houston, Texas. So Jerry started talking a little shop with me one afternoon.

We were talking about trucking and he said that in the cold of Central Wisconsin, they would put diesel fuel on their fifth wheel so that the grease on the fifth wheel doesn't freeze up. He will also put pure antifreeze in the radiator. We also would put some antifreeze in the airlines so that the air brakes were not freeze up.

I thought that was very interesting. All those things are unnecessary in Houston Texas where it's always warm.  I did drive for two wonders up north but that was thirty years ago! Oh how the times do you fly by so quickly!
