Two Rolls Of The Dice

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

I just came off of a four day break from work. I found my tractor, load up my stuff into it, and pulled away. It has been raining for several weeks now, and of course the yard is flooded!

My tractor, 17-1507, is a white 2017 freightliner day-cab. My trailer is always the same, a container of Freon on a long chassis. I used to have a pool of six leased container's, but now it's down to four!

I round the corner on the yard and see my trailer down the flooded line. I drive up and it's my trouble trailer, EURU 534683. Andre Wheeler, my reserve driver, loaded it last Friday. It's my trouble trailer, because it needs two new tires. And of course Andre didn't post-trip the trailer, or write up the tires now that its on the yard!

It's been needing those tires for weeks now. But every time I get assigned it, it's my second load of the day! So I just pull it across the street to unload it, then bring it back across the street, for reloading. Because of that, I never could catch it on a one load day to put some tires on it.

It needs tires, but I'm on the yard, and I'm not waiting two or three hours for the tire guy to be called out! I hook up and hit the road to Waller, Texas!  I'm old school and will roll the dice!

It's a rainy morning and I get to Waller just fine. When I get to the tanks at Daiken Manufacturing, there are six maintenance guys around! The first picture above is what I saw. That means trouble! But they fixed it fast, just a bad fuse.

After I unload, there is only room for a half a load in the tanks!  I'm now hoping that they cancel the second load to get the tire replacement. I decide to roll the dice a second time and just go to the Love's truck stop to get them on.

I was blessed to find the Love's tire shop empty and the guy at the counter!  I talk to him and back it in. In no time I have two tires. Both on the left rear axle. The second picture from the top. While that was being done Jeana called me to inform me that the second load was indeed cancelled. Two rolls of the dice, and I win both times!
