Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
Yesterday we had hurricane Nicholas passed right over Houston, Texas. It was a very small hurricane, only a category One. It was a tropical storm just until just before landfall. So, officially it was a category One hurricane.

For us living on the Gulf Coast it was a piece of cake! For hurricane category one's and two's we don't pay too much attention. Category Three we kind of look at it closely. It's the category four and five's that we fear. Those are the hurricanes from hell!
The good thing about a hurricane is that our safety department shuts down all the trucks. Most of the chemical refineries, and companies in the Houston area had shut down. And because the safety department for Trimac Transportation, ordered all the trucks to shut down, I got a day off! And because it was the safety department that shut us down, we got to pay day off!
The hurricane passed over us and dumped over nine inches of rain! The winds were strong, but not strong enough to damage anything. There is only minor flooding, and the day after, today, I went back to work.

I'm sure somebody's building got damaged, and somebody's house flooded. I hate to be happy about getting a day off from work. Sounds kind of cold and uncaring. But I did enjoy camping out on the couch all day!
