I had a crack on one of the welds holding the bumper from one of my chassis on. The bumper wasn't no danger of falling off just yet, but it really did need to get fixed. I called my dispatcher, Cole Nelson, who gave me the okay to get it fixed locally.
One place said they couldn't fix it, so I tried a second place which could. Klein Fabricating in Hockley, Texas. It's a very small two-bay shop, Run and operated by one old man. He has been there for thirty-eight years in the same location.
He welded the bumper right up and I was in and out thirty minutes. And he only charged thirty dollars, which made my dispatcher very happy. When he was done we started to talk a little as he wrote out the bill.
He said that ever since they built the factory, Daiken Manufacturing, just across the street, he has nothing but theft going on. He said any kind of scrap metal he leaves around, they come and steal it! He said they're just feeding their dope habbit.
I agree with him! I let him know that the higher law immigrants that he bus in. And the ones that are not immigrants are not the best quality people. He said that ever since the built the factory theft has gone sky-high in the area!
And I'm at the factory everyday delivering the freon. They do catch people non-stop on drugs or drinking alcohol. They even found whiskey in a spray bottle! It's a shame that today people have feel and need to get drunk or high.
