Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
I was hooking up my first load of the day with Robert, One of the maintenance lead man. Robert is a middle-aged black man who spent ten years in the army before getting out and coming to work for Goodman manufacturing.
I noticed they had not used a lot of Freon since I had been gone. So I questioned Robert about it. He said it might have been because of the fire! I thought to myself, "yeah that could be it!".
Robert said that welders were on the roof welding something. Sparks and debris from the welding work was falling down into a press machine. A press machine is used for pressing out parts. Normally, if you're welding, then you would cover something like that up, so that debris and sparks wouldn't fall down into it. Apparently, that didn't happen.
Well the press machine eventually caught on fire! I guess they couldn't put the fire out fast enough so they sounded the alarm. That means that the entire factory was evacuated. So I'm sure all production was paused.
He said that long after the press machine caught fire and a large rain downpour occurred, And soon helped to put out the fire. Instead of the welders doing some minor repair work, they instead caused a bigger problem!
