My Morning Scare

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

I have to admit something.  At night, I never wear my seatbelt while I'm driving.  That's fine for the winter time, but the morning breaks a little early in the summer. And that almost got me in trouble this morning.

I was driving up Hwy 290 this morning, on my way to deliver my first load of Freon.  A County sheriff drives up along my left side, and hovers right next to me.  Out of the corner of my eye I see him looking at me!  So I'm thinking this is going to be a DOT (Department of Transportation) inspection!

Whenever law enforcement pulls a truck over for a DOT inspection, they first drive next to you to see if you're wearing your seatbelt.  Because if you're not, that's an easy ticket for them to write up.  But because dawn was breaking while I was on the middle loop around Houston, I then put on my seat belt.

So about twenty minutes before he pulled up alongside me I had my seatbelt on.  Even still, I thought he was going to wave me over to do a DOT inspection.  When he pulled in front of me I was looking for his arms come out of the window to wave me on to follow him!

But he kept moving on, and about a quarter of a mile in front of me, he quickly pulled over to the side, behind a guardrail.  So instead of it going to being DOT inspection, his plan was to shoot some radar.  He gave me a little bit of a scare that morning, it woke me up for sure!

Have you ever had a scare early tomorrow?  You can tell me about it in the comments section.
