Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
I pulled up to the plant and started hooking up with Wiley. Mike wasn't working today so why I always taking his place. we start talking about all the people who got fired here lately at Goodman.
Then Wiley mentioned that Mike was leaving the next day to go to Colorado a snowboarding vacation. Mike is a large stout white man, who is a retired Houston cop. He is now working here with the plant maintenance crew.
Well it wasn't only just a few months ago when he was laid-off for a month from Covid-19 Pneumonia. His son's transmission broke down while at college, and he had to pay two-thousand dollars to have the transmission fixed.
And because he wasn't working, he was broke and needed money. A lot of the other maintenance guys chipped in and gave him a donation of money. I myself gave him twenty dollars on two different occasions, adding up to forty-dollars!
It looks like now that he got his stimulus check, he decided to go on vacation to Colorado. Well instead of doing that he should pay back the people who gave them some money. That would be the honest and ethical thing to do.
When I gave him the forty-dollars, I didn't expect him to pay it back. So I'm not going to ask him about his vacation, or ask for the money back. If it was me, instead of going on vacation snowboarding in Colorado, I'd be giving people the money back for helping me out.
Mike's a retired police officer and probably has the attitude that everybody owes him something. It's not the honorable thing to do, but that's how people are today.
