Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
This morning it was thirty-five degrees outside! A strong cold front has arrived! I was sitting in the drivers room around four-in-the-morning, and getting my stuff together when a new driver came in. He is a middle-aged African-American owner-operator.
He asked if I could help him. He said that the trailer was too high and he could not crank the trailer down. I told him that I would help him. He said that he was on the last row by Best Transportation. I told him that I would meet him there.
I was already hooked up and ready to go, so I drove around and checked it out. The dolly leg handle was too short! It was useless against all of that weight on it!
I dropped my container and got under the trailer and lifted it up and we got the legs up a few inches. I dropped the trailer and hooked up back to mine again. He hooked up to his with his brown Freightliner and managed to hook up to his trailer.
He told me that he knew that his fifth wheel was too low, but with work being too slow he was waiting to have it raised up. I told him that I understood. It's always good to help our fellow driver's out!
Have you ever had to help out someone at work before? Can you tell me about it in the comments section?
