Blowout On My Annaversary

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Today, February 7, was my twenty-eighth anniversary with Trimac Transportation!  I celebrated it with a flat tire alongside the road!  Hwy 146 and Hwy 330 in Baytown, TX.

I had my regular scheduled load of Freon to Daiken in Waller, TX, this morning.  It went all well.  I got my container for tomorrow from VLS Recovery from across the street.

On the entrance ramp to Hwy 290 the state police had a four wheeler pulled over.  A young black girl, probably for speeding.

Coming back to the yard I had the blowout!  It tore up the trailer fender so bad it was pushing against the good tire next to it.  I called Sam Atkinson to have road service  come out to fix it.

It took over an hour before they came out to me.  Once there, the tire guy said that it was too busy to fix the tire.  He was right, cars and trucks were coming off Hwy 330 trying to merge onto Hwy 146.  They were driving very close to us!

I told the tire guy to do what he needed to do!  His people, Southern Tire, called the Baytown police to block the road.  We had to wait about another hour for them to come out!  But the road definitely needed to be blocked!

When I got back to the yard to switch paperwork, Sam Atkinson did mention that it was my work anniversary.  He was the only one that did.  But at least there is that.  No cake, no party, just that mention.

I still did my second load to Baker, across the street from the yard.  All went well, just they let me sit after I was empty!  The total hours of the day was fourteen hours!  It was a long day!
