Hello everyone.
Started my day in a Days Inn motel room in Shreveport Louisiana. Still on the Arkansas load that was canceled. Ate a good breakfast and at ten in the morning took off toward home. Stopped in Greenwood at the fuel stop to fuel up. Got a cup of Pumpkin spice coffee for the road. Got back to the branch at a bit past four.
Back at the branch a BD load was available that Edmund offered me. One BD load pays 8 hours minimum! So even though I had just arrived from Shreveport Louisiana I took it. Usually its a quick load in the evenings. Not this evening! I got to ITC to load and the scale was empty which was good since that's usually the problem there. Went to the loading rack and there was a line of trucks in front of me. It was shift change!
When the new loaders arrived I had to wait for them to unload all the other trucks first. When it was my turn I noticed they were taking awhile to get started and I soon found out why. The loading paperwork the scale gave me had the wrong tank number on it! So I had to return to the scale to get new paperwork.
Came back to finally load and the unloading operator tells me that he and the other operator were new and have never loaded a bottle trailer before and had called their supervisor over to watch them. That was a good thing to do and I was supportive of it, but it was costing me time. I did get a little picking done. After four and a half hours loading I delivered the load to Kaneka in Pasadena. A 14 hour day!
