Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
I got off late last night so I couldn't start till 11am this morning. I had one THN load and one acid load. I knew I was pushing myself a bit and I was hoping for no hang-ups. Guess what? A hang up!
A THN load loads up in 30 to 45 minutes. 45 minutes at the most. It was shift change and they let me sit for over an hour. Since I need to write down an explanation on my paperback I had to ask. Well the operator got mad thinking I was rushing him.
He was a young kid and a bit immature. Well he storms off and said he would let me sit for 30 more minutes. Never say that to a banjo picker with a banjo and a new song to learn!!!!! I eagerly agreed. Unfortunately he came back and unload me.
All that wasted time affected my second load since they stop loading at 6:30. So Jack, my dispatcher said to just drop it off on the yard and someone else could deliver it later. That's what Aaron (student driver) and I did. Aaron is a Mormon from Utah.
Switched to the acid trailer in the rain and off we went. I arrived at the plant at 6:25! 5 minutes before loading cut-off. The guard thought it was funny, but the loader was not near as amused. Anyway, got loaded and delivered it to Dow in Freeport, TX.
