Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
Good load bad load today. Good load from Houston to Corpus Christi today, but bad load since there is no time to pick my banjo. I love full work days that have lots of banjo picking time. I love those days.
Got to work about 0615 and my truck did not start! This has been going on all summer. Now they are talking about putting a ground to the starter. Hopefully that will work. I leave the truck sitting for more than two days and I have no idea if the truck will start or not. Ian jumped me with the company pick-up. That's a nice way to start off the week!
My last student driver left his safety gear in the truck last Friday when I dropped him off in Victoria, TX. He has family there and said it was better than a motel room. He is right about that. Anyway, he didn't call me and when I tried to call him his phone was turned off. So I left his stuff in the dispatch office.
Loaded at Rhodia in Houston bound for Valero in Corpus Christi. Took my usual break in Victoria to get coffee and kick the tires.
About 20 miles down the road guess who calls. The student I dropped off in Victoria last Friday. James Cann. He had seen me going the other way and wanted a ride back to Houston. I told him about 4 hours or so I would call him when I was in Refugio, TX.
I unloaded the load of sulfuric acid at Valero's De-min unit and headed back. I picked James up on time and we both went back to Houston. So I did my load and got my student back!
Have you ever had to pick someone up before while at work? Can you tell me about it in the comments section?
