Covering Up Tatoos

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Today I was with a young Hispanic-American, who was born in the United States, but his parents were born in Mexico. And because of his heritage, he would go to Mexico quite often.

But because the last 20 years things have been changing in Mexico they had to be more careful. What are the things they learned that they had to do was cover up all their tattoos.

Because tattoos mean something in certain cultures. A good example is the prison culture. Prisoners who belong to certain prison gangs will tattoo the same symbols on their bodies. And that is also case with the Mexican cartels in Northern Mexico.

So because he and his friends had tattoos on their bodies, They were told it was wise to cover them up. The wrong person seeing a tattoo could think it means something different. And that's a misunderstanding that could lead to a lot of trouble.

Mexican cartels are extremely violent! And if they think you're a member of another cartel or law enforcement, They will not hesitate to kill you! Having tattoos can be dangerous in prison, and in Northern Mexico.

So when they used to go down to Mexico to do some drinking they would always cover up their tattoos to be safe. Things today in Mexico are extremely dangerous and they no longer go down in the Mexico!

Have you ever had to cover up a tattoo before?  If you had, can you tell us about it in the comments section?  If you enjoyed this story, you can click on the "follow" button to read all of the future stories coming up!
