In The Batters Box

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

I just come back to work after three days off. I found my tractor, and I was loading my stuff inside to start my work day. That's when one of the older drivers, named CL, drove up, because his truck was next to mine.

I was complaining that the last driver that used  my tractor, left a bag full of trash in it, and I had to clean it up. CL mentioned that somebody had used his truck as well that weekend.  CL asked me about my dedicated run, and wanted to know a little bit about it. I said I am retiring, but Andre Wheeler has got the job. CL said not according to Sam Atkinson, the Terminal Manager, who said he had more seniority, and he might  have the job if he wanted it.

I said, "okay, you're in the batter's box!" So I told him a little bit about the job, and that it was really quite easy, and he could be trained in one day, no problem. Potomac pays well and it's easy and it's the best job that they company has.

He agreed, and said that everybody is scrambling to get it. I replied,  "yeah that's why I heard everybody wants it," and for good reason. But I'm not retiring until three months and it's already getting crazy! I can only imagine how it's going to be in January just before I retire!
