Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
I was walking to the bathroom, after hooking up my first load today, and stopped and talked with Jose. Jose works in the welding shop mostly making forklift barriers. He works with Joe and Lena.
Jose and Joe did all the welding work, and heavy work. Lena was a young attractive Hispanic lady. She did all the cutting and metals and spray painting. Being that she was a lady and could not weld, she did all the light work.
I always enjoyed talking with her. It's just a little different talking with her than is with the guys. And I am much older than her and she occasionally would ask for life advice. She was a divorce single mother of two young children. She was just trying to make it in the world.
She had been unhappy with the job she was doing. It was more of a man's type of work and world. She always talked about doing something easier. I always gave her a voice that she needs to get a degree or certificate in some type of skill. A certificate in computer software can usually get someone an office job.
She had gotten COVID-19 and disappeared for about a month. I asked Jose a few times about her. Who would say that she was sick with COVID-19, and was still out. Today I was walking to the shop to go to the bathroom. And I stopped to talk to Jose for a minute.
I asked him He had a news about Lena. I was called her his girlfriend. They always pay them nervous cuz Lena turned in someone for sexual harassment a few years ago. He said that she quit last Saturday. She came in Saturday and turned in all her work stuff. He said she got a job in a warehouse on I-10 outside of town.
Jose didn't say it but he looked like he was pissing me wanted that she was gone. I was kind of sad to see her gone too. Just for the fact that she was somebody different to talk to than the regular guys. I wish you well in life, and I hope she has much success.
