Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
My wife and I flew up to Wisconsin, to escort my elderly mother, who is from there originally. She still has a lot of her family living in the area. My aunt Nancy and uncle Jerry live in the old farm house in Wautoma, Wisconsin.
Wow we were there he told us many stories about the history of the area and the family. He told me several stories from his trucking days. My Uncle Jerry drove a truck for twenty-five years. He drove in the sixties and seventies, now a long time ago!
He told me of a time where he drove team with another driver to Miami Florida. He would drive for his regular company Monday through Friday, then to make a few extra dollars he would take team loads for another company, on the weekends!
Uncle Jerry said this load to Miami was a little different. Him and his co-driver had to take a load of Playboy magazines from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Miami, Florida! I would say a load of Playboy magazines was a little bit different, yes! This was long before the Internet was invented.
The trailer was sealed and locked with a very strong metal lock, in a thick wired seal was applied to the door! That made it very hard for somebody to open up the door. And my Uncle Jerry and his co-driver were told not to tell anybody what was in the trailer!
They got the Playboy magazines to it's destination, and came back empty. He said they couldn't tell anybody going down there that they had load of magazines on the trailer, but they were very vocal about telling people coming home what they had just delivered!
