Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
Last week I got off around 3:00 in the afternoon on Friday. I left the yard anticipating a very nice weekend with my beautiful wife. Soon as I got home my dispatcher was texting and calling me! I didn't answer him!
I believe in today's vernacular, That's called ghosting! When I refused to answer his calls, he text me a few times. He said he had two loads dropping his lap and he needs someone to do it. After I dodged his calls a few times they didn't text me if I could do one preload.
I didn't answer his calls I was texting because I wanted the weekend off. In my 30 years of service with this company I gave them a lot of my time. So I don't feel bad about not working weekends or holidays.
But I do want to stay on good relations with my dispatcher, Cole Nelson. So I asked my wife if she can make some brownies for him. She said she has a pan of brownies in the freezer, or she also has a pan of pastalaya. I gave him brownies last couple times, so pan of pastalaya would be something different.
So my wife got out of the freezer Monday morning. I got to work I put it in his little refrigerator by his desk. You didn't say anything to me about it, and I didn't call him either. So that tells me he was kind of mad at me. I did call Jeana, my other dispatcher, who works next to Cole, to straighten up my paperwork, and I asked her if you received it and she indiscreetly said yes.
Sometimes when work is busy you got to do what you got to do and get your time off. That means buying off or dispatcher with food, well so be it. We'll see next weekend just how bad is, or how badly he wants to be fed!
