Trimac Transportation had a new driver recruitment, and driver appreciation day today. They had a catered barbecue meal from Dickey's barbecue. The food was very good!

We had a bouncy castle for the kids in the old fuel island. They placed it there because it has been raining all day long. Then I also got my plaque for three-million-miles! The plaque is the top picture.
I also got to see Robert Sanders. He has been retired for two or three years and came by for his brother's appreciation day. He was awarded a plaque for two million miles.
With Robert Sanders was John Hartford, our old Terminal manager, and now a Regional manager. I haven't seen Robert or John for ages and it was great to sit down and talk with them. I think we must have talked about thirty to forty-five minutes.
Another driver received a plaque for one-million miles. People were killing and going eating and taking food away. After my talk with Robert and John I got two plates of food and I left for the day as well.
These days we don't get too many perks at work. So it was kind of nice to have one day and free food in the driver's room. Back in the day we had that kind of meal once a week! Now we may have it two or three times a year! How times have changed.
