Ronnie Martin

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

This morning my truck wouldn't start, The kill switch broke and it stayed in off position. So I had to sit in the driver's room for a few hours this morning.

Rudy Horechek was sitting with me when Ronnie Martin came walking into the driver's room. He had told me a few days ago that he was leaving Trimac Transportation after 31 years of service.

He went up into the training office got a bag of hats and was passing around hats to everyone. That was a very thoughtful thing to do. I almost see him everyday in the driver's room, so I'm going to miss him when he's gone.

Ronnie Martin started with DSI transports 31 years ago. He started at working in the wash rack, washing out trailers. then for many years he was the wash rack manager. That job became too stressful so he decided to go to driving.

He's been a driver for Trimac Transportation for many years.  Then he was promoted to training manager and had a large office upstairs. He did a very good job as the training manager. Well in that position he met many corporate people and managers.

After many years of being the training manager and having a corporate position, Trimac laid him off. But within a few months they hired them back as a driver.

One of these managers works at A & R Transportation. They are an up-and-coming trucking company. With them he can go back to training drivers. They also gave him a very large pay raise!

The picture below is him during his 30-year anniversary cake.  We kind of joked around that that wasn't much after 30 years of service. But, my 30-year anniversary has come and gone and I didn't receive anything!

Ronnie Martin has always been a great guy. I am happy he is going back to training and found a job he would enjoy much more. I wish him much success and much prosperity in life!
