Seadrift At Eight

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Yesterday I had a choice of three things to do today.  The pick up at Seadrift kind of stood out to me for some reason.  Normally I don't take them since they don't pay aa much.  But I thought to myself that I hadn't been down there for a few years and a longer trip would be nice.

I got up at three-in-the-morning to be at Seadrift, TX, at eight.  I got on the road a little bit after four-thirty. I left with Mike Adams as he was going to Freeport, TX for his Caustic  pickup.

I pulled on the fuel island at the Angleton, TX, Loves Truck Stop for fuel, Mike pulled up beside me!  I got fuel and got back on the road. I was going to go down Hwy Thirty-Five down there, Seadrift is about seventy miles north of Corpus Christi, TX.

This little plant stands out in my mind because everywhere you go they have a sign to remind the drivers to turn their engines off.  They are a little freaky about the truck engines running with no one in them!

I got loaded and talked with an interesting driver in a wide brim hat.  I returned the other way. Hwy thirty-five to Hwy one-seventy-two to Hwy fifty-nine.  I stopped in Ganado, Texas, at the Petro Truck Stop with four minutes left to take my thirty minute break.

I bought some candy and returned to the yard.  I will deliver the load tomorrow morning at seven to Brenntag in Channelview, Texas.  It was a good trip and I'm glad that I went there today.  I don't think that it was worth the money, so it might be my last time there!

Have you ever been to the Seadrift, Texas, area?  Can you tell me about it in the comments section?
