Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
I had a preload to deliver to Brenntag this morning at seven. I am the one who loaded it up down in Dow at Seadrift, TX, yesterday. You can read about that in the post called, "Seadrift at eight."
I got to Brenntag a little bit before seven. Osais was off today, so I didn't get to see him, but I did get to see most everyone else there. It was good to see the old gang from the old Hooper road Brenntag place.
They unloaded my MEA load into totes, while I just relaxed. I got out of there in three hours. I drove back to the yard and Cole was at lunch. I texted him if I was done for the day. He quickly texted me back saying that I had a Dow A Plant load to pickup.
I think that I scared him a little! I checked my mailbox and sure enough I had paperwork for a preload at Dow A Plant to pickup at one-thirty. I quickly hooked up and pulled around to the office for Cole to check the paperwork.
I got to the A Plant scale on time and talked a little with another driver. He had moved to the town of Cut-in-shoot, TX about five years ago and was now planning on retirement. It took me forty-five minutes to get through security as they were training an older man for the job.
I got loaded very fast and then I headed to Dow B Plant to weigh heavy since A Plant closes at two in the afternoon! I weighed and headed back to the yard. It was a long day today, but it was Friday! On the way back Cole called me to work on Saturday! I told him that I had made a commitment and could not come in.
I did, in fact, have a commitment, I scheduled a young kid to train at Houston Hospice, where I volunteer. I got back and dropped the trailer, turned the paperwork in the basket and got out of there.
Did you ever have a day at work and thought that you were done early on a Friday? Can you tell me about it in the comments section?
