Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
I had a preload to pick up at Dow A Plant this morning. My schedule was at seven-thirty, so I got to the yard at five. I was on the road a little after five-thirty. I got to the A Plant scales at seven and checked in and got a badge.
I was loading a load of Versinens at the twenty-six hundred block. I spotted the truck and walked upstairs and sat in the cold loaders office. It was colder there than outside! So much so, I had to walk back downstairs to get my jacket!
I sat there for a while, then they wanted me to call my dispatcher so he could email them a copy of the MSDS from the previous load over to them. That took at least forty-five minutes. Cole called me about another thirty minutes to tell me that the load was going to be rejected!
Even though the trailer had been washed out, some residue always gets into the metal inside the trailer. Very sensitive chemicals like Versinens can pickup on it and make it off-spec!
The last contents chemical was not compatible with Versinens and so the load was rejected! I left still empty and scaled out and returned to the yard. When I got back I sat down to eat lunch.
I then found out that my afternoon load was cancelled by the shipper! Cole did have three empty trailers to take to the Deer Park yard, so I still was a good day pay wise. I didn't get to do either of my loads today, but that's trucking!
Did you ever have all of your loads cancel? Can you tell me about it in the comments section?
