Chassis Inspections

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Today was a little different.  Yesterday I could not bring a loaded chassis back to the yard because the guy who does the yearly DOT inspection was there, and I had to leave all of them there.  So, I bob-tailed back to the yard.

Because VLS Recovery does not open till seven in the morning, I didn't go to work until five.  That gave me an extra hour to sleep, and that felt good!  I pulled out of the yard at five-forty-five.  I arrived at VLS Recovery at seven-fifteen.

I hooked up and took it across the street to Daiken.  I waited for for forty-five minutes for an operator to come and turn the pump on, no one came.  Finally, Dave Malone's son was walking by and asked if someone had come, I told him "no."  So he turned it on and signed my paperwork.  Great kid, but I have forgotten his name.

When I finished, they still didn't come either!  Jeremy, the plant engineer, came and I showed him how to tun the pump off.  He was eager to learn how to do it.  Jeremy is a young thin black guy, who loves superheros, comic books, and stuff like that.  A very nice guy!

I got tomorrow's loaded trailer and went back to the yard.  When I got back, I took the fire extinguisher test on the company computer.  It was short, not a problem.  I had to switch tractors, mine is due for a service, so they gave me another one for tomorrow.
