Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
I have Joe Mims with me today again. We have a load from Laxness in Orange, TX, to Albemarle in Pasadena, TX. Then a load of Caustic from Westway in Houston to Pilot in Houston.
It is raining this morning as a cold front is pushing through. I am surprised that the trailer is dry inside. The dome had some condensate on it that I wiped off. I weighed light at Barbour Cut truck stop then headed over to Orange. Its raining so I drive! The "grinder" I'm giving the morning off. I call Joe the grinder because he has a hard time shifting and grinds the gears of the truck! We get loaded in the rain.
I drive back! I stopped at the Chinese restaurant in Winnie, TX, and buy my trainee lunch. All you can eat! By the time we get to Pasadena the weather starts to clear up. We drop them trailer at the plant and bobtail back to the branch. They had pizza at the branch but we were still full from lunch!
Our new trailer had twenty psi in the tank so we had to bleed it off. A brake light was also out and we had the shop replace that. Talked a bit with the plumber at Julia's house then off we go again.
Load at Westway in thirty minutes and Joe has a hard time getting over the ship channel bridge. Grindy Grindy. We get on the beltway and there is a bunch of traffic there and Joe is just grinding away. He is having a hard time shifting! I'm not happy about it!
I get to the customer in time for Edmond to call wanting to use the last few hours available this week. I tell him NO, for safety reasons only to have Mario our operations manager try his luck. I tell him NO as well.
