Pete The Greek

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

I had two loads of sulfuric acid from Rhodia in Houston to Dow in Freeport. Yesterday Edmund wasn't sure if the second load was going to be canceled or not. Jack called me this morning to say it was a go. Jimmy loaded the first one at Rhodia. I then took it to Chlorine 4, B2223, Dow B-plant in Freeport.

Just as I finished backing up to the loading rack guess who calls? None other than Pete the Greek! A driver that worked here for thirty-two years! Great guy, always happy and friendly! I just love him to death! Born and raised in Cypress, lived in England where he meet and married his Finnish wife. Great people! He is retired now and doing good.

As usual they got me going and then the operator took off, saying he needed to "make his rounds."  In other words he wanted to screw off somewhere! Which is OK with me since there all kinda creepy around here anyway!

I loaded the second load at Rhodia and took their badge! I'll hear about that! I'll try and drop it off tomorrow when I'm passing through to volunteer at Houston Hospice.

  4. I got Wil's number programmed into my phone now, I will give him a call when I get some free time. Got in an hour and a half of pluckin' time this evening. Also, there is no longer a rattle in the banjo!! I took off the resonator (three thumb nuts) and found out that the rattle was the nut off of the hold down for the strings that had come off and was banging around in there. It was missing a lock washer, so I'll have to find one for it.
