Pump Load

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

I had dropped off two empty trailers at Centauri in Pasadena, two days ago and now that they were loaded I went to pick them back up and drop them at the branch. That took a bit longer than I expected so it was lunch time and there was a lot of left overs from Thanksgiving dinner at work.

After that good feed I needed to switch tractors since my next load is a pump load and my tractor does not have a pump. I hate switching tractors.  Had to look for a key, had to fuel it up....

Finally got to the truck stop, two hours later to weigh light.   Loaded fast at Advanced Aromatics in Baytown and headed to Huntsman in Port Neches, TX.

After I checked in and spotted the truck it took those folks over two hours to approve the sample I gave them! By this time I was getting low on work hours so I started to stress out a bit. While I was on the phone to Central Dispatch another operator rode up on a bicycle and said I could unload. Finally got to start up the pump and get this junk off. Adversol 150, a industrial cleaning fluid. Pump pump pump and off it went!

Long 16 hour day!

  1. Awww, Bill.... you'd just have to camp out in Port Neches overnight if you lost all of your work hours, right? Then they'd pay you more for the same load, eh? LoL.

  2. Lol, will not make more money at all. Plus I was in a day cab and need a hotel room to take a 10 break. Plus who wants to spend the night in Port Neches?....lol....not me!
